I used to be a chimney sweep up north
Thought I’d go and join the force
And have a job at twenty two

I don’t mind the badge and all its perks
Like recklessly running reds while we’re at work
But when the acts of service start
Well I really don’t like that part
I like the pension plan, not paperwork
Well the guys in my unit have issues too
So I try my best to fill their drool-soaked shoes
Like the way they puff out their chests
Like it adds inches to the rest
A gun and a badge all dressed up in blues
I thought the girls would swoon when I pass by
And that I’d be the hero at the scene of every crime
But fire fighters are in better shape
And the donuts really pile on the weight
So I’m yanking my crank with all my might
My mom let me watch too much TV
A bit too much Police Academy
Now the kids just look at me with laughter
And cops ain’t what the girls are after
They’ve got a special place down there for me
Sometimes I think of how much this job sucks
Every month they watch me piss in a cup
If you wonder how I sleep at night
I’d say you’re asking the wrong guy
I’ll retire right when 50 years are up
